Who
We
Are
The Harlan Foundation was built on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the chance to dream big and build a brighter future, no matter their circumstances. What began as the OFDT Foundation, created through the passion and vision of our real estate family, has grown into a community movement dedicated to serving homeless and foster youth across Southwest Florida.
As we expanded our mission and deepened our impact, the name Harlan Foundation emerged — a reflection of both our roots and our future. “Harlan” represents strength, family, and leadership, qualities we strive to instill in the next generation.
Today, the Harlan Foundation unites community leaders, local businesses, and compassionate neighbors to provide essential resources, educational opportunities, and hope for the children who need it most. Our story is one of growth, but our purpose has always remained the same: to uplift, empower, and inspire the leaders of tomorrow..
The Why
At the heart of the Harlan Foundation is a simple truth: no child chooses the circumstances they are born into. Homeless and foster youth often face overwhelming challenges—uncertainty, instability, and a lack of resources that many take for granted. Yet within each of them lies extraordinary potential.
We believe that when a community comes together with compassion, we can change the trajectory of a child’s life. Our “why” is to stand in the gap—to provide stability, encouragement, and opportunity so these children can not only dream of a brighter future but have the tools and support to achieve it.
Because when we invest in children, we invest in the future of our entire community.
